Dick Fordyce was instrumental in the development and growth of the Pharmaceutical Marketing Research Group (PMRG) and served as an excellent example of professionalism to all who knew him. In his honor, PMRG annually seeks nominations for the R.R. Fordyce Award.  The R.R. Fordyce Award will be given out at The PMRG Institute's Award Ceremony and Dinner held each Fall.

Nominations are due by July 31 of each year.  Nominations have closed for the 2016 calendar year.

R.R. Fordyce Award Guidelines

  • The recipient must be a PMRG member.
  • Nominations for this award can be made by any member or non-member.
  • Nominees should aspire to the following ideals.

The Fordyce winners should be professionals who have demonstrated throughout their career a pattern of leadership that is observable in the way they serve their clients and internal business partners, the way they conduct themselves among their peers and colleagues, and the kind of demonstrable impact they have had on the industry through their effects to advance the value of market research. These qualities are embodied in the following four criteria:

Professional Thought Leadership: reputation for highest level of professional skill, depth of industry understanding, commitment to excellence in the field; exemplified by contributions that enhance the intellectual vitality of market research practice through innovation and enhanced application

Personal and Professional Integrity: respected by colleagues, peers, clients, and competitors for impeccable professional ethics and consistently fair dealings; exemplified by credo of responsibility to research participants as well as adherence to all industry obligations and guidelines

Industry Citizenship: recognized for efforts to elevate market research professionalism and for advocacy on behalf of the market research industry, exemplified by service to/through PMRG or through other forums and organizations whose mission is to advance market research in the healthcare industry

Commitment to Mentorship: known for commitment to development and inspiration of young professionals in the industry through education, counsel, coaching, and encouragement; exemplified by participation in programs that cultivate the leaders of tomorrow and testimonials of people whose careers they have influenced
